CMeIn vs Fotto AI: Audit Your Photos or Replace Them
This is the one comparison on this site where the honest answer is that you might want both, and where the competitor does something we do not.
Fotto AI, by its own description, lets you audit the photos you already have for free before paying for anything. CMeIn generates new photos. One tells you what is wrong with your current profile. The other gives you something to replace it with.
What CMeIn makes
An audit tells you a photo is weak. It cannot hand you the thing that was missing.
CMeIn makes social composition: a frame where people see who you are, see you leading, see something worth being part of, and take the whole thing as a real moment rather than a shoot. That is what makes someone want to be there with you. A grader can point at its absence. Only a new photo puts it there.
Why the gap is worth closing rather than just measuring: dating apps are a shelf and you are on it. A score tells you the packaging failed. It does not tell you that what was missing was other people, something happening, and you at the centre of it. Without those, every rescored version of the same lonely photo fails the same way.
What each one does
| CMeIn | Fotto AI | |
|---|---|---|
| Main job | Generate new photos of you | Audit the photos you have, then generate |
| Free step | Browse over 4,500 scenes | Audit existing photos, per their site |
| Built around | Likeness | Dating app performance, per their site |
| Price to start | $2.99 for two photos | Free audit, then paid generation |
Their column is their public claim. We have not used the audit or seen their generated output.
Start with the audit, genuinely
The free audit is a good idea and we will not pretend otherwise.
The best photo on your profile is often one you already have. A friend took it, you were not thinking about the camera, and it looks like you because it is you. No generated photo beats that. Any tool that helps you notice which of your existing photos is already working is doing you a favour before it sells you anything.
So if your question is "is my current profile any good", a grader answers that and CMeIn does not.
Where CMeIn comes in
The audit tells you a photo is weak. It does not give you a better one.
That is the gap this product fills, and it fills it with a specific constraint: the replacement has to still be you. No smoothing, no slimming, no teeth whitening. Pick from over 4,500 scenes, or describe your own, and you appear in it with your face, features and proportions held steady.
CMeIn does check your uploads, but for a different reason. It scores them against five key poses, straight on, turned left, turned right, and the two profiles, and will not generate until at least two are covered. That is quality control on the input, so the likeness has enough to work from. It is not a grade on your profile.
About those review counts
Worth saying plainly: Fotto AI has thousands of reviews and CMeIn has almost none. We are newer and have only just started asking.
Think of a chain restaurant with a thousand branches against a kitchen with one room and a waiting list. The chain will always have more reviews, more photos on the internet, more of everything countable. None of that is evidence about the cooking. Counting is not tasting.
That is not an argument that we are better. It is an argument that the number on its own does not tell you which photos will look like you, and that you should discount it in both directions. Read what the reviews actually say, look at the output, and decide from that.
The other half of the audit
Fotto's free audit tells you which of your photos are weak. We built a free tool that fixes one of the most common reasons why.
Pose Maxing works on a photo you already own. It detects your posture, standing, leaning, seated at a table, on a step and so on, and re-poses you the way a photographer would have, while keeping everything else untouched: face, clothes, place, the people with you.
The number of possible fixes is larger than most people expect. Across 13 postures there are 149 of them. A single standing photo has 40, and since up to two body corrections can be combined with one for gaze or expression and one for lighting, that one photo has 5,719 possible outcomes.
So the loop looks like this: audit tells you a photo is weak, Pose Maxing corrects the stance, and the same moment now shows you leading it rather than standing beside it. That shift from bystander to centre is what we mean by social leadership, and it only counts inside a real social convention, which your own photo already has. It is free for now, 300 photos a day.
Which one to pick
Use a free audit first, from Fotto or anywhere else. It costs nothing and it might tell you that a photo you already own is the best one you have.
Then, if what you need is a photo that does not exist yet, CMeIn makes that, and makes it under the constraint that it has to survive meeting you.
